At the meeting of Haemophilia directors, officials and haemophilia centre directors from across Scotland a comment was recorded as being made by Professor Ludlam that DDAVP could have been used from 1979 but that this was a matter of clinical judgement and "patients were desperate at that time to be prescribed concentrate as this allowed them to treat themselves at home."
