Minutes of the Eleventh Meeting of the U.K. Haemophilia Centre Directors held on the 30th September 1980. Discussion points include report on meetings of Haemophilia Reference Centre Directors, report on the 1979 Annual Returns from Haemophilia Centres, reports from Working Party Chairmen and provisional date and place for the next meeting of all Haemophilia Centre Directors It was noted that there were problems obtaining post-mortem reports on haemophiliac patients because Pathologists were not keen to undertake post-mortems on haemophiliacs because of the possible risk of hepatitis. They note that large pool concentrates appear to give higher risk of hepatitis than small pooled concentrates and Dr Craske felt that increased usage of small pool concentrates would help reduce the incidence of hepatitis in the haemophiliac population. NHS product was said to be better than commercial. Discussion about use of cryoprecipitate use instead.
