Draft letter to regional administrators re. blood products production attached. States there is an immediate need to provide more AHG concentrate but that part of the demand for blood products is being met by imported material. Explains that the current output from the Blood Products Laboratory Elstree is limited by the amount of plasma supplied by Regional Transfusion Centres. States that it would be considerably cheaper to produce blood products within the NHS than to buy them from commercial sources.
