At a meeting of the MRC's Blood Transfusion Research Committee, it was agreed that there was "at present no need to screen potential blood donors for non-A non-B hepatitis" but the production of a vaccine would be waited with interest, and that it would be valuable to follow-up transfusion patients previously found to have a raised serum level.
