Inquiry publishes expert report on Public Health and Administration

bottle

The Inquiry has published a report on public health and public administration. The report outlines the principles of public administration and public health, record keeping in the NHS, and the systems used for making decisions on health policy across the UK. It also makes suggestions for how these systems could be improved.

In addition, the report explores the importance of the patient voice, appropriate communication of risk and the duty of candour. Finally, it draws on the work of the Cumberlege review in connection with redress, and of Robert Francis' compensation framework study in relation to priority of treatment.

Throughout, the report provides background context, describes the current position and offers suggestions for areas the Inquiry might wish to consider further.

Experts from the public health and administration group will give evidence to the Inquiry on Monday 3 and Tuesday 4 October. You can find the full timetable here.

The full report can be read here.
