Lord David Trefgarne wrote a letter to Nicholas Baker MP. In the letter he stated that he appreciated the anxiety amongst people with haemophilia and their families which recent press reports on AIDS may have caused, and then stated "the cause of AIDS is as yet unknown and there is no conclusive proof that the disease has been transmitted by American blood products".
