As part of this work, he will hold discussions with people who were infected or have been affected by contaminated blood or blood products. In particular he will want to hear views on the support schemes and the essential components of compensation. Sir Robert anticipates delivering his recommendations and supporting evidence by the end of February 2022, and that he will subsequently give evidence to the Inquiry.
The Compensation Framework Study was commissioned by the Cabinet Office and is independent of the Inquiry. The Terms of Reference for the study were confirmed by the Cabinet Office on 23 September 2021.
