Data held by UKHCDO recorded 61 cases of HIV antibody positive at Basingstoke and Treloar's Haemophilia Centres. One is recorded as having seroconverted in 1980, four in 1981, eight in 1982, sixteen in 1983, thirteen in 1984 and nineteen in 1985, and none inlater years.

A student at Treloar's, who was infected with Hepatitis B whilst at Treloar's stated that his mother was never told about the diagnosis; despite a group of pupils having been collectively told of their diagnosis. The pupils were told that because they were haemophiliacs they would get over the Hepatitis B infection, unlike other people.
