The commercial heat-treated Factor 8 product used at Birmingham Children's Hospital in 1985 and 1986 was Armour's product.

Armour had been the sole supplier of heat-treated Factor 8 to the region up to the point at which it was discovered that previously HIV negative children at Birmingham Children's Hospital treated with heated Factorate had been infected with HIV.
